Key facts
- Reply and quote: Within 4 business hours
- Response: Same day in Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto and Ottawa; 24 to 48 hours elsewhere in Canada
- Emergency line: Answered around the clock
- Why maintenance pays: UPS that received two preventive maintenance visits a year showed an MTBF 23 times higher than UPS with none, in Vertiv's field data
What does a UPS service programme cover?
It covers everything that keeps a UPS ready to carry the load: scheduled maintenance, battery testing and replacement, thermal and power-quality checks, load testing, repairs and, at the end, a planned replacement. Eaton's list of the components that need preventive maintenance is a good map of the work: batteries, capacitors, air filters, internal connections and power supplies. Each of those wears on its own schedule, and Eaton's aging-UPS paper puts the most common failure causes in one line: dirt and dust, humidity and heat.
How does a service job run?
- Request: you send the site, the UPS make and size and the timing; we reply and quote within 4 business hours.
- Method: before the visit, a written method: what is checked, which readings are taken, how the load is protected, who signs off.
- Visit: the work is done to the maker's procedure for your model, with readings recorded as they are taken.
- Report: what was found, what was done, readings against the previous visit, and what needs attention next, with photos.
